Miriam is a warm, energetic therapist experienced in working with diverse individuals and communities. She is known for her compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy. Following the completion of a BA in Sociology, Miriam attended the Addiction: Treatment and Prevention program at Georgian College and then earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling at Niagara University (Lewiston, NY).
Miriam is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.
Miriam prioritizes a therapeutic relationship based on equality and respect as well as providing a warm and empowering therapy experience. Her approach to therapy is integrative and at its core, person and strength focused. Miriam uses a variety of evidence based treatments including but not limited Person-Centered therapy, Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, CBT, mindfulness and compassion focused treatments, and Motivational Interviewing.
Miriam specializes in the areas of addiction, anxiety, depression, shame, emotional overwhelm, stress management, self-acceptance and compassion.
